EATL-Prothom Alo Apps Contest 2014 Kicks Off June 29 EATL Apps, the first ever apps store in Bangladesh and Prothom Alo, the top Bengali newspaper have joined in hands for creating innovation and opportunities for our brightest talents. Media partners are Channel I and Radio ABC for connecting people with this initiative and recognizing the brightest talents. Contest Roadmap

Innovation Level

EATL Apps Development Contest is focused to to find innovative ideas on Mobile apps development from the contestants, but there are different levels of innovation, and a common understanding is required to ensure that concept received from applicants meets minimum innovation criteria.
Firstly, find out at what level your innovation occurs:
  • INVENTION- a totally new idea in the world
  • LEVEL-1 INNOVATION- An innovation that has not been commercially developed or scaled up anywhere in the world.
  • LEVEL 2 INNOVATION- An idea is commercially developed somewhere in the world, but has not been tried out on a commercial basis at all in Bangladesh
  • LEVEL 3 INNOVATION- An idea that has been tried out on a commercial basis in Bangladesh, but has not been tried in a particular region of Bangladesh, or an idea that works in the cities but not yet tried commercially in the countryside
  • LEVEL 4 INNOVATION- An idea that has been proven to work in Bangladesh but is new to mobile technology

Who can participate?

The Contest is open to participants from all Bangladesh nationals. Participants may be individuals, legally established entities (profit, non-profit, academic) and public sector organizations. Participants are responsible for compliance with legal required documents. The EATL staff, sponsor(s) and members of the jury board are not eligible to participate in this Contest.






Award Category

  • Best App -      Individual/Team with a cash prize of BDT 10,00,000
  • 2nd Best App - Individual/Team with a cash prize of BDT 500,000
  • 3rd Best App - Individual/Team with a cash prize of BDT 200,000
  • 10 smart phones for top 10 Individuals/Teams
  • Job opportunity for top 10 Participants/Team

Registration

Participants must register on-line before submitting their concept. The on-line registration period will run from 01 July'2013, until 15 September'2013.
Following the registration, a user name, email and password, that must be included in the submission; an activation email will be sent by EATLApps team to the registered participant by email. Processes are as follows:

  • Check your email and activate your account
  • Click "Contest" tab and submit your concept



Submission

All submissions must be made in English through www.eatlapps.com. Only submissions to this website area will be accepted. The submission period will run from 01 July'2013, until 15 September'2013. A submission must be comprised of:
  1. A Project Name.
  2. Name of the Team.
  3. Contact Person Name.
  4. Mailing Address, Telephone and email Id and Country
  5. A description of the project, including a detailed concept Paper (maximum of 1,000 words) describing how the submitted application would be helpful for public and how they will be benefitted by downloading the app.
EATL will acknowledge the receipt of the submission by e-mail.
